Open the forest, build your dungeon, and raise nearly 50 allies to defend it.
Awaken your allies from a forest brimming with life. Enemies march along the paths you open.
Choose where to open, and where to lead the enemy. Shape the terrain however you like, then take on the invaders with your allies. Send every invader back to the forest before the Komorebi Stone is taken, and victory is yours!
Work out tactics with a limited number of moves, like solving a puzzle. No two layouts are ever the same.
From spirits to dragons, nearly 50 allies appear as you clear the forest. They change form as they grow, and you fill in the codex one entry at a time.
When allies level up through training, their special abilities, such as healing and howling, grow stronger along with their HP and attack power.
Travel from sunlit groves to forests of snow and ice. Each world has its own scenery, with new terrain and new enemies waiting.
Opening the forest is only one of the actions players can take. - Open: carve paths through the forest and awaken allies. - Flower: grow a flower that draws enemies in, holding them up while dealing damage. - Root: place a wall of roots that enemies cannot pass, blocking the path. - Tap an ally three times: return extra allies to the Forest Ibuki. Battles play out in real time, and the situation keeps changing. Deciding on the spot which action to use and when is what makes the game fun.
Each ally has its own way of fighting.
Kohaku Kohaku heals nearby allies.
Iwarou Iwarou howls to raise its allies' attack power.
Hasunoko Once grown, Hasunoko produces one small offspring after another to block the enemy's path.
Asagi Once grown, Asagi takes to the air and targets the most weakened enemy.
Players choose which allies to bring together and how to combine them, and depending on how well those allies work together, the way to win can change completely. Working out those combinations is the most enjoyable part of Morifis.

Dragons are guardians of the forest whose influence reaches every ally. Their grown forms are left for players to discover in the game.
The Forest Trial takes place on a large map where two forests sit side by side. Players face an endless stream of invaders and try to see how many Waves they can hold out. Enemies grow stronger as the Waves go on, and every 9 to 12 Waves players move to a new map and open their paths again from scratch. Because players stay on one map for a long time, a forward-looking plan for which allies to raise and when is what decides the outcome. The Wave each player reaches can be compared with the records of players around the world.
The invading Royal Survey Team is not easy to beat either.

Players watch which enemies are coming and adjust the paths they open and the allies they combine.
Once, a kingdom overflowed with light, until a shadow slowly began to fall over it.
To make the land shine again, the Royal Survey Team is sent to bring back the Komorebi Stone that sleeps deep in the forest.
Footsteps are closing in on the quiet forest.
Together with your allies, can you defend it to the very end?

"I've always loved games where you build and defend your own dungeon, and games where you raise monsters, and I made Morifis because I wanted to take the fun of digging your own paths and defending them with the allies born there, and turn it into something you can play anytime on a smartphone," said the developer of Hakumai Studio. "Depending on how you combine your allies, even the same stage can be fought in a completely different way. I'd be glad if players find a way to win that's all their own. Of everything in the game, my favorite is the Forest Trial, where you see how many Waves you can hold out. It's fairly tough for a mobile game, but that also makes it something you can keep playing for a long time."
Hakumai Studio is a one-person indie studio based in Japan. Morifis is its first game, with everything from design and development to live operation handled by a single developer.
